It was was a Monday night in Amsterdam during the summer of 2015 and I was at a weekly YWAM homeless ministry event. It was a pretty normal night filled with small talk and some more meaningful conversations. Towards the end of the night one of the guys I had gotten to know over the past year asked me if he could borrow 50 euros to cover some expenses until he got paid later in the week. Although this guy was maybe not considered the most credit worthy I decided to take the chance, half expecting to never be paid back. We walked together to an ATM to withdraw what would become Opportunity Capital’s first loan! My friend returned the money in a few days and I realized how good it feels to be helpful to others. That night changed my life.
